LaPaz, Bolivia

Arrive LaPaz in early morning and transfer to hotel. Rest and acclimate to the altitude. In the afternoon, we meet for an orientation on our upcoming activities. o/n hotel

Today we drive to the altiplano for a visit to the ruins of Tiwanaku. Return to LaPaz and take a short city tour. Tonight, to bed early for big day tomorrow. o/n hotel B/L

After breakfast we depart for the trailhead where we start our trek into the Andes, first ascending to 15,000 ft. and then gradually descending through incredible countryside. o/n tents B/L/D

Today we continue our trek down into the Yungas valleys. The temperature will rise as we descend and scenery will change into a tropical wonderland. We pass through small villages, terraced fields and fruit orchards along the way. o/n tents B/L/D

We begin to see waterfalls, orchids and butterflies as we continue along the ancient trail of the Incas. Plenty of photo ops along the way as well as a glimpse of a simple way of life for the people who live in the area. o/n tents B/L/D

The last day on the trail . The trek will end by late morning and we'll be picked up in a private vehicle for transport to the river where we'll take a short rafting ride on grade II-III water in the afternoon. Later we transfer to our hotel in the charming town of Coroico. Tonight we'll meet for cocktails and conversation. o/n hotel B/L/D

Today you have the option of rafting or kayaking on the river or just relaxing and perhaps taking a short hike. We return to LaPaz in the evening via a steep, winding, narrow road. In LaPaz, transfer to hotel . o/n hotel B/L

A relaxed day with an option for some excursions or just exploring on your own. Tonight we'll meet for a farewell dinner and pena. o/n hotel B/D

This morning, you'll be transferred to the international airport for departure to the US. For those continuing to Lake Titicaca, the day is free to explore La Paz. B
