KAYAKING LAKE TITICACA (segment 2)

May 21-Sunday

Arrive in LaPaz and transfer to hotel. The day will be at a relaxed pace to allow time for rest and acclimation to the altitude. In the afternoon, a short city tour and before dinner, we meet for orientation of the upcoming activities. o/n hotel

After breakfast in our hotel, we depart for the Andes and one of the charming towns, arriving in time for a late lunch. Transfer to our hotel and time to explore the town. Tonight we meet for dinner at a terrific Italian restaurant. o/n hotel B/L/D

After breakfast, we'll hike and explore the area, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way. o/n hotel B/L

This morning we'll depart this lovely mountain town and head down to Lake Titicaca to the lovely town of Copacabana. After discussing kayaking techniques and safety measures we'll depart for Island of the Sun . We'll paddle along the peninsula, meeting reed boats as we go and finally arriving at our destination. We'll camp on the beach . o/n tents B/L/D

We continue our circumnavigation of the island, stopping to explore ruins and have lunch on one of the beautiful beaches with spectacular views of the Andes. In the evening, enjoy the night sky of the southern hemisphere from our campsite. o/n tents B/L/D

This morning we'll head back towards the peninsula again for our take-out and depart in the afternoon for LaPaz. Transfer to hotel. o/n hotel B/L

The day is free to explore LaPaz on your own or opt for a trip to the ruins of Tiwanaku. In the evening, we'll meet for a farewell dinner. o/n hotel B/D

An early departure to the airport from our hotel to make international connections to the US or elsewhere. B
